Danish Ornithological Society/BirdLife Denmark (in Danish: Dansk Ornitologisk Forening - DOF) is a private society working for the protection of birds and nature as well as the procurement of knowledge on birds.
DOF has app. 12.000 members organized in 12 local branches. The main sources of DOF's profound knowledge about birds in Denmark are the 20 professionals working in the main office combined with the huge amount of voluntary work carried out by dedicated members.

Everyone can seek information on birds on this website, but if you want to supply DOFbasen with data you need a password. Data can be entered either directly via the web or via a small program. Which can be downloaded from the website.
The local branches of DOF do the administrative work on the database. The people involved in this work are organized in a group called "DOFbasegruppen" and its activities are coordinated by DOF.
