| Kommentar til obs.: | First seen far away to the west with two Buzzards. Immediately obvious due to larger size (a third longer wings). Stayed rather far for some time until it came closer over Nedermose (but still too far away for photos) then back fast south-west. Seen alongside several Buzzards and Red Kites and nearly always soaring. Some haze but seen well and long enough to be absolutely certain on the identification. It was an immature as it had an obviously pale head and missing inner primaries on both wings. Hence, I believe it is a different bird to the one found by KNP and photographed by ASF on 06/06 which has an obviously dark head and no missing inner primaries in the photos. Please see my crude fieldnotes made in CCTs notebook. I have seen several Short-toed Eagles in Spain and one at Skagen in 2019. I probably should have reported on Zello sooner but I did not want to lose the bird faffing around with my phone. |
