    DATA FOR OBSERVATION NR. 39459935 - 20/05/2026

Dværghejre (SU) (Botaurus minutus)1
Adfærd:Trækkende
Tid:23:21-23:37
Kommentar til obs.:Nocturnal migrant recorded with a passive recorder placed in the heathland at Storsig. Two calls were recorded at 23:21 and three calls at 23:37, so probably a migration attempt or the bird was looking for suitable habitat to rest. Calls are characteristic in sound and sonogram shape, with a duration of 134-140 ms and a frequency peak at 1.9-1.96 kHz. Overall arched shape, first rising and then downslurred, with the downslurred part being much longer than the rising one. In the good calls there are several harmonics visible, with the second harmonic band above the main band broken in the middle, only showing at the sides of the call. The intervals are strongly shortened in the uploaded recording (50, 79 and 61 seconds between calls).
